Restorative Dentistry – Jacksonville, FL
Fix Up Your Smile
When something breaks, you fix it, right? Unlike other parts of your body, your teeth can’t actually heal themselves, so if you’ve developed decay, chips, or cracks, ignoring the problem will only allow it to become worse. Thankfully, Dr. Schumacher is able to provide quick, beautiful, and lasting repairs that will make you forget you ever had dental issues. In most cases, he’s able to completely restore compromised teeth in a single appointment. Give us a call today to learn more about your options!
Why Choose James L. Schumacher
for Restorative Dentistry?
- CEREC: Custom-Dental Crowns in 1 Appointment
- Aesthetically-Friendly Restorations
- Fully-Customized Crowns & Fillings for Each Patient
We can make a small cavity practically disappear with a tooth-colored filling. Instead of dark grey amalgam, these restorations are made using flexible composite resin. It can be colored to perfectly match the rest of the tooth, meaning it won’t stick out in your smile. And, because these fillings are metal-free, they don’t increase temperature sensitivity or make a tooth more likely to crack over time like traditional restorations.
If the visible portion of a tooth is too damaged to be repaired with a filling, the next step is to cover it with a dental crown. These look and function just like real teeth, and they are fitted over large cavities or fractures to protect the remaining enamel while also replenishing its appearance and strength. Our crowns can be made of durable metal or dental porcelain to ensure they look completely natural.
CEREC One-Visit Restorations
Typically, getting a dental crown takes at least two appointments with lots of waiting in between. Who has time for that?! To help you get the care you need in record time, Dr. Schumacher has invested in CEREC technology. With it, he can scan your tooth, digitally design your crown, and mill it right in our office in about an hour. Dr. Schumacher can place it immediately, and then you’re done! Our CEREC crowns are just as strong and natural-looking as any created by an outside lab, but they only take a fraction of the time.
